11:15 a.m.  Innovation and Opportunity with Community Food Systems,   Matthew Buck, Principal, Matthew Buck Consulting 
Matthew Buck will discuss consumer and industry trends that are driving interest and investment in
community food systems, and provide an overview of projects and programs being implemented in urban and rural communities throughout Oregon. His talk will address innovations and benefits seen in wide variety of initiatives aimed at increasing production, distribution, accessibility, sales and consumption of fresh, healthy foods from local and regional sources.

1:00 p.m.  State and Federal Funding Opportunities ,   Sharon Thornberry, Oregon Food Bank
  Don Hollis, USDA Rural Development ‐ Pendleton
Sharon Thornberry and Don Hollis will discuss state and federal funding opportunities for food and
agriculture projects. Opportunities discussed will include the Farmers’ Market Promotion Program (FMPP), Community Food Projects, the new Healthy Incentives Pilot Program, Rural Business Enterprise Grant (RBEG), Value Added Producers Grant (VAPG), Business & Industry Guaranteed Loans, Intermediary Relending Program (IRP) and Specialty Crop Block Grants.
