April 16: Waterlife: Five Great Lakes. One Last Chance (109 min)
Waterlife follows the epic cascade of the Great Lakes to the Atlantic Ocean. From the icy cliffs of Lake Superior to the ornate fountains of Chicago to the sewers of Windsor, this feature-length documentary tells the story of the last huge supply (20%) of fresh water on Earth. Filled with fascinating characters and stunning imagery, WATERLIFE is an epic cinematic poem about the beauty of water and the dangers of taking it for granted.
April 30: Rising Waters: Global Warming and the Fate of the Pacific Islands (57 min)
For 7 million people living on thousands of islands scattered across the Pacific Ocean, global warming is not something that looms in the distant future. Through personal stories of Pacific Islanders in Kiribati, the Samoas, the atolls of Micronesia including the Marshall Islands, and Hawaii, as well as researchers in the continental United States, this film puts a human face on the international climate change debate.
May 14: The Unforeseen: Featuring Robert Redford (93 min) & Rain Barrel Raffle
The American dream of owning a house with a white picket fence goes head to head with environmental sustainability in this urgent, beautifully crafted documentary. Breathtaking in scope, this film questions what we are willing to give up in the name of growth.

Siletz Tribal Energy Program
We invite the Employees of the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians
(and friends) to participate in a Book, Magazine and Movie Swap during
Earth Week April 15-19. We are celebrating Earth Day by promoting the
concepts of reduce, reuse, and recycle! Please bring in the books,
magazines and movies you no longer want and trade them for others. If
you are here and you don't have anything to swap that's okay too...share
and reuse is what it's all about!! Any items remaining at the end of
the week will be available for free at the Earth Day Fair (in
cooperation with the SAAM 5K Run/Walk) on Saturday April 20 at our
booth. Items remaining after that event will be donated.
How it works:
Bring your unloved books, movies or magazines to the Administration
building lunchroom or the Clinic Shell room starting Monday April 15.
Leave what you want to donate, take what you need. Be reasonable. Items
will be randomly transferred between the Clinic and Admin as necessary
to encourage you to look more than once.
Have fun!

For Notes from the 13th Small Farms Conference, check out the spring issue of OSFN......
Plus, the author and I had the same reaction. Not only were too many informative classes scheduled at the same time but also blooming daffodils signal that it's time to fertilize the pasture within a couple weeks!!
As she remarks, "Daffodils are a good thing. So are Small Farms
Conferences. :)
